Much to the dismay of fans 2006′s leading all black member band, The Slack Republic, disbanded in early 2007 before ever releasing their highly anticipated LP, siting creative differences. So it may come as a shock to many of their followers that that several demos from the incomplete concept album are now being released for freeload.

Recorded in the early winter of 2006, The Rise & Fall of the Ottoman Empire contains 9 selections from the final and incomplete works of The Slack Republic. The valiant effort was made to compile these songs into the closest representation of the album that never was. Additionally each track features lyrics and/or some portion of concept album’s narrative. Visit: mecjagger.bandcamp.com for more details.
